Alabama 2018 Delta Days at the Capitol (DDAC)

Greetings Chapter President and Members:

Delta Days at the Capitol (DDAC) is the activation of Delta’s national social action thrust, serving as a vehicle for advocacy and effecting social change and public policy. Plans are underway for the 2018 Delta Days at the Alabama State Capitol to be held Wednesday, March 21, and Thursday March 22, 2018, in Montgomery, AL.

Under the theme: Defining the Moment…Believing in the Power of WE,” the DDAC Steering Committee has formulated an enriching and informative conference designed to address critical issues of importance to all residents of Alabama along with continued discussion about how Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. can be an advocate for the voiceless in our communities.  We are in critical times.  Silence is consent and we will no longer be silent.  It is imperative that each of us move beyond our comfort zones and begin to action…social action.

As in the past, we are asking each chapter to register at least 3-5 members. Attached are the items needed for 2017 Alabama DDAC Registration:

  • Summary Registration Form
  • General Information, Agenda Overview, and Hotel Information

This year we are pleased to offer sorors the opportunity to complete their registration online (in addition to registering through your chapter). Below are the procedures you must follow in order to complete your registration:

  2. You will receive a confirmation notice via email which will contain a link to your registration record.
  3. Print two copies of your completed registration form:

Per the standard procedure, the chapter will submit the appropriate registration fees for all paid and registered Sorors. If you pay for registration fees through PayPal, you do not have to submit payment to your local chapter.

Each chapter will submit a summary form listing each registered Soror along with the appropriate fees to the Host Chapter.

This information will also be available online via the Southern Region web site.

The Chapter Registration Form and Summary Registration Form should be completed in its entirety (identifying all participating members) and returned along with a chapter check, cashier’s check, or money order for the total registration fee.

2018 Alabama Cluster & Statewide Founders Day

Dear Sorors of the “Beautiful” State of Alabama!

As we kick off the fourth cluster in the 2018 Southern Regional Cluster Cycle, we welcome you to the birthplace of Mardi Gras and Gulf Coast City of Mobile, Alabama. This year, we invite each of you to Refuel, Reflect, and Rededicate. We ask that you refuel your spiritual tank and reconnect your server to the Savior; reflect on the values we hold dear with our family, friends and sisters; and rededicate your lives to the principles on which our illustrious sorority were founded, exactly, 105 years ago.

Our vision continues to include all sorors, collegiate and alumnae, each having a vital role in advancing the sisterhood. Roles that will empower chapters to better serve our communities, embrace the talents of collegiate and alumnae members, engage those members to create opportunities that will advance the region and enhance each chapter in a powerful way.

The Regional Leadership Team, along with our host chapters, Mobile Alumnae, Baldwin County Alumnae and Iota Nu Citywide (University Of South Alabama, Springhill College, University Of Mobile) chapters, has worked untiringly to prepare purposeful, enlightening, and informative sessions with entertaining opportunities for sisterly camaraderie and fun.

The weekend celebration will begin with the opportunity for sorors to participate in stimulating workshops and enjoy a fun- and fellowship-filled Welcome Event. Our founding observance of every year has a special meaning in the heart of EVERY Delta. We will all rededicate ourselves to our Sorority during our time gathered at Cluster. On Saturday, we will unite in service for DeltaServesTogether. We are asking each soror to view the service flyer and participate in a service project to aid Mobile and Baldwin Counties. This will provide us all with the privilege of walking in the footsteps of our beloved Founders. After we serve, we will put on our red dresses and be served, while enjoying an evening of entertainment, during the, Red Dress Affair: A Founders Day Dinner Celebration. On Sunday, February 25th, we will commemorate our Christian Principle roots with a soul-stirring Ecumenical Service. You don’t want to miss this sisterhood-filled weekend.

Each registrant must complete the on-line registration form and submit payment via the online PayPal service listed on the site. Once successfully registered, you will receive confirmation and hotel links via email. Please check to make sure your information is correct.
Registration fees are $95 for alumnae and $75 for collegiate sorors. Click here to register for the 2018 Alabama Cluster/Statewide Founders Day.
