Tennessee 2018 Delta Days at the Capitol (DDAC)

Greetings Tennessee Sorors,

The year 2018 grants us another opportunity to activate our national call to Social Action.  We value Social Action along with Political Awareness and Involvement.   This platform allows us opportunities to present informational workshops on education, mental and physical health, voter registration and public policies, affecting our community.  The ‘Do’s and Don’ts of Social Action will be a focal point for collegiate and first-time attendees. Additionally, we will engage in workshops to strengthen our chapter programs and projects.

Tennessee Delta Days at the Capital will meet in Murfreesboro on February 12, 2018.  The following day, February 13th will be at the Legislative Plaza in Nashville.   The site for the first day of workshops will be the First Baptist Church of Murfreesboro.

TN DDAC registration for alumnae members is $50.00 and $20.00 for collegiate sisters.  Registration will be payable through the PayPal account of Clarksville Alumnae Chapter.  The educational plans for our Tennessee DDAC require an overnight accommodation for those registering for DDAC.  Adequate time is needed to better prepare our chapters to develop worthy projects and programs for our service areas and state. A series of discussions have been planned to assist in accomplishing this goal.  Please plan to stay for the entire session, if possible.  A list of hotels in the Murfreesboro area are included.  We are making every effort to be cost conscious in our selection of hotels.  The Residence Inn by Marriott is strongly recommended because of spacing and cost.  Credit cards will not be charged until the day of arrival.

The attire for Monday, February 12th is professional business: red and black or red and white.  Attendees will be able to socialize and bond after completing the business of Delta.  All members visiting the capitol are asked to wear your red professional business attire on Tuesday, February 13th.

2018 Tennessee DDAC Packet

In reviewing previous years of DDAC attendance, we noted that many of our Tennessee Chapters have not sent anyone to DDAC at the state or national level. We are encouraging you to be more supportive and available to learn. All large chapters are asked to encourage 25 sisters to register for DDAC and the small to medium chapters bring a minimum of 10-15 attendees. Our political landscape is in a ‘state of urgency.’ Delta chapters can advance the growth of Social Action with your support.

Looking forward to seeing for 2018 as an attendee at Delta Days in Murfreesboro and Nashville.

Yours in Delta,

Georgia 2018 Delta Days at the Capitol (DDAC)

Greetings Chapter President and Members:

Delta Days at the Capitol (DDAC) is the activation of Delta’s national social action thrust, serving as a vehicle for advocacy and effecting social change and public policy. As social action advocates, it is imperative that we remember the Power of We…collectively making a difference in the communities we serve.  We’re asking you to get fired up and ready to meet us at the Georgia State Capitol for the 2018 Delta Days at the Capitol!

The Regional and State Social Action Teams extend an invitation to join us on February 25 – 26, 2018, for the 2018 Delta Day at the Capitol.  Planning is underway for an exciting day that will include legislative briefings on critical issues facing our communities along with continued discussion about how Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. can continue to build on our Founders legacy by allowing social action to fuel change and improvement for the voiceless in our communities. It will be an action packed day filled with vital information as well as opportunities to fellowship with your sisters. It is our hope that you will answer the “Call to Action” and leave informed, revived with the spirit of the Founders and continue the critical work of social action.

As in the past, we are asking each chapter to commit to registering at least (5) members.

We have expanded the online registration process this year to include payment.  Each individual registrant will be able to make payment via the online link.  Chapters will not be required to submit the Summary Registration Form.

There will be NO ON-SITE registration.

Please note the registration fees are non-refundable.  The fees are as follows:

  • $45 for Alumnae
  • $30 Collegiate
