Dear Chapter Presidents and Social Action Chairs,

The Delta Days at the Capitol (DDAC) Steering Committee is proud to announce the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. DDAC Social Action and GOTV Action Awards to be presented at 2017 Delta Days at the Capitol during the Social Action Breakfast Program.

The DDAC “Social Action” awards will recognize members who have demonstrated the highest level of social action and made significant contributions in one or more of our Five Point Programmatic Thrust.

The following categories will be awarded:

Attached are the guidelines for each award. Please complete and return the “Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Social Action Award Nominee Form” (linked above) for members you feel have made an outstanding contribution in one of the areas listed above or the most deserving chapter for the GOTV award by January 27, 2017 using the appropriate online link.

In addition, please send us a list of all Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. members in your area who hold an appointed or elected public office. These individuals will also be recognized at the Social Action Breakfast Program.

Georgia 2017 Delta Days at the Capitol

Greetings Chapter President and Members:

Delta Days at the Capitol (DDAC) is the activation of Delta’s national social action thrust, serving as a vehicle for advocacy and effecting social change and public policy. As social action advocates, it is imperative that we remember the Power of We…collectively making a difference in the communities we serve. We’re asking you to get fired up and ready to meet us at the Georgia State Capitol for the 2017 Delta Days at the Capitol!

The Regional and State Social Action Teams extend an invitation to join us on February 26 – 27, 2017, for the 2017 Delta Day at the Capitol. Planning is underway for an exciting day that will include legislative briefings on critical issues facing our communities along with continued discussion about how Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. can continue to build on our Founders legacy by allowing social action to fuel change and improvement for the voiceless in our communities. It will be an action packed day filled with vital information as well as opportunities to fellowship with your sisters. It is our hope that you will answer the “Call to Action” and leave informed, revived with the spirit of the Founders and continue the critical work of social action.

As in the past, we are asking each chapter to commit to registering at least (5) members. Enclosed are the items needed for DDAC 2017 Registration:

We will continue to use on-line registration for individual registrants. Payment should be made through the registrants Chapter Finance Team. The Chapter Summary Registration Form should be completed in its entirety (identifying all participating members) and returned along with a chapter check, cashier check, or money order for the total registration fee. Please note: There will be NO ON-SITE registration. Chapter registration forms and fees must be received no later than February 10, 2017 to the following address:

Mississippi 2017 Delta Days at the Capitol

Delta Days at the Capitol is the activation of Delta’s national social action thrust, serving as a vehicle for advocacy and effecting social change and public policy. As social action advocates, we still have work to do in the state of Mississippi. We’re asking you to get fired up and ready to meet us at the Mississippi State Capitol for Mississippi DDAC 2017!

The Regional and State Social Action Teams extend an invitation to join us on January 23 – 24, 2017 for Delta Days at the Capitol (DDAC) in Mississippi. Planning is underway for an exciting event that will include dynamic discussion on critical issues and legislation facing our communities, a visit to the capitol, engaging our state legislators, and continuing to discuss how Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. can be an advocate for the voiceless in our communities. DDAC will be filled with vital information as well as opportunities to fellowship with your sisters at our Legislative Partnership Breakfast and Social Action Luncheon. It is our hope that you will answer the “Call to Action” and leave revived with the spirit of the Founders in order to continue the work they started over 100 years ago.

The registration form and other pertinent information are below. The registration link will be disabled at 11:59pm Central on Mondau, January 9th. There will be NO ON-SITE registration. Registration fees are $55 for Alumnae, $50 for Collegiates and Delta Dears.

Additionally, the 2017 Delta Day at the Capitol (DDAC) Steering Committee is proud to announce the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Social Action Awards to be presented at the Mississippi 2017 DDAC.

The DDAC Social Action Awards will recognize members and chapters who have demonstrated the highest level of social action and made significant contributions in one or more of our Five Point Programmatic Thrust. In addition, we will be recognizing the chapter, other than the host chapters, that registers the most members for our MS 2017 DDAC at the Mississippi State Capitol.

The following categories will be awarded:

Social Action Trailblazer Award
Get out the Vote (GOVT) Award

Please complete and return the Social Action Awards Nomination Form for members you feel have made an outstanding contribution in the areas listed above, as well as for your chapter GOTV program, by January 9, 2017. In addition, please send a list of all Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. members in your area who hold an appointed or elected public office. These individuals will also be recognized at the MS 2016 DDAC Social Action breakfast.
